the Hippopotamous
Nan Farady
It might be platitudinous to say
to a hippopotamous, friend,
aerobics is where it's at.
It might be pusillanimous to fustigate
a hippo Miss with, friend, aerobics
is where it's at.
Hipshot on land, lugubrious lummonx,
lump of gastrovascularity:
for her, aquatics is what it's about.
Bigshot of the hippodromian deep,
hippogriff, hipster in hiphugging mud,
plentiudinous plumb.
Aquiver in the river--an arabesque,
a priouette--our buoyant bundle
synchronaise lumbago to the wind.
While we, anorexic giraffes,
anaphrodisiacs to this voluptanious
nymph, aerobisize our bodies away.
