Fayetteville-Manlius Art and Music Departments
The Art Department recognizes the role art plays in the core curriculum at all levels. Art is essential to a well-rounded education and the development of creative thinking and strong visual and perceptual skills. The visual arts communicate human ideas, understanding, and perspective in ways that cannot be expressed using any other means.
The art program is designed to contribute to and foster each student's individuality and to bring each student to places of beauty, understanding and tolerance. Through the experiences of creating, understanding, and valuing
human expression, students develop skills that enhance their community and personal lives.

The Music Department is committed to providing access for all students to the highest quality music education, regardless of their background, talents, or abilities. A strong musical foundation not only contributes to a broad education for students when they are young, but also creates the groundwork for lifelong learning and appreciation of all the arts in the future.
Music enhances creative thinking, cognitive processing, and decision-making. Establishing music as an integral part of the education experience for a student provides the basis for understanding, respect, appreciation, and personal enrichment that endures for a lifetime.
