District to discuss proposed budget with community

April 9, 2017: The Fayetteville-Manlius School District will hold two community budget forums to talk about the district’s 2017-18 proposed budget.

The F-M Board of Education has approved an $80 million proposed budget that is under the district’s tax levy limit and restrains spending to a 1.39 percent increase.

The proposed $80,728,938 million budget increases spending $1,109,197, or 1.39 percent, compared to the 2016-17 school year. It carries a tax levy increase of 1.96 percent, or $1,145,787. The district’s tax levy limit increase, or “cap,” is projected at 1.97 percent. 

The forums will take place at the following times and locations:

  • 2 p.m. Monday, April 10, at Fayetteville Free Library, 300 Orchard St., Fayetteville;    
  • 6 p.m. Thursday, April 13, at Manlius Library, 1 Arkie Albanese Ave, Manlius.

District residents will have an opportunity to vote on F-M’s budget proposal 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. May 16, 2017, at Fayetteville Elementary School.
