COUNSELING Mrs. Julie Wolf, Counselor The elementary school counselors in the Fayetteville-Manlius School District are an integral link in the educational system. Through the K-4 counseling program, elementary counselors promote personal success by enhancing the development of academic skills, interpersonal skills, and self-understanding. The elementary counseling program also educates students in decision-making, problem solving, goal setting and self-awareness. The elementary counseling program is delivered through a multitude of vehicles: Individual Counseling: May cover a variety of topics including, but not limited to: - Self-awareness

- Peer pressure
- Loss and bereavement
- Family issues
- Communication
- Stress management
- School related issues
Group Counseling: Peer support groups run throughout the school year covering a variety of issues. These groups include: - Newcomers Club
- Banana Splits (children experiencing parental separation or divorce)
- Conflict resolution
- Social skill streaming
- Peer relationships
- Bereavement and stress
Classroom Presentations: Working closely with classroom teachers, elementary counselors deliver lessons specific to individual needs of each classroom.
