2019-20 Code of Conduct public hearing to be held July 2

The Fayetteville-Manlius School District is committed to providing a safe and orderly school environment where students receive, and district personnel deliver, quality educational services without disruption or interference.

The district’s Code of Conduct is the foundation for promoting a safe, orderly environment for students, staff and visitors. It lays out district expectations for conduct on school property and at school functions. These expectations are based on the principles of civility, dignity, mutual respect, citizenship, character, tolerance, honesty and integrity.

The code applies to all students, school personnel, parents, vendors and other visitors when on school property, in school vehicles or in attendance at a school function.

Public Hearing

The district annually holds a public hearing on the code before any changes are adopted for the new school year. The public hearing on the proposed 2019-20 F-M Code of Conduct will be held during the July 2 F-M Board of Education meeting, which will begin at 6 p.m. in the auditorium of Eagle Hill Middle School.

The meeting is open to the public, and anyone may raise questions or concerns about the code during the public hearing. A copy of the updated code can be found in BoardDocs.

A summary of the adopted code will be published in the district’s community newsletter that gets mailed to residents’ homes in late August and will also be distributed to all students at the beginning of the school year. The full code is also available on the district website.
