Each school and/or district reopening plan must include information on how the school/district will have knowledge of the level of access to devices and high-speed internet all students and teachers have in their places of residence.
The Fayetteville-Manlius School District reopening plan includes a 1-to-1 device model for all students. Students will have a computing device available to experience remote learning as well as in-person instruction. The district will conduct a survey of its students and staff on the availability of high-speed internet in their places of residence.
Each school and/or district reopening plan must include information on how the school or district, to the extent practicable, will address the need to provide devices and internet access to students and teachers who currently do not have sufficient access.
Fayetteville-Manlius School District, to the extent practicable, will provide data hotspots to those students and staff who do not have high speed internet. Students and teachers, as part of the 1-to-1 device initiative, will have devices to use for learning while in district and remote.
Each school and/or district reopening plan must include information on how the school or district will provide multiple ways for students to participate in learning and demonstrate mastery of Learning Standards in remote or blended models, especially if all students do not yet have sufficient access to devices and/or high-speed internet.
Fayetteville-Manlius School District will provide multiple ways of student participation in learning using a blended model with access to an assigned device and high-speed internet. A learning management system will be used for students to demonstrate mastery with the use of online and in-person evaluation. Video conferencing will be used with breakout rooms to connect students at home to their teacher and also classmates. All students will have the appropriate device and internet access to connect to the learning management system and video conferencing assignments and discussions.
