Board of education to meet virtually Monday, Dec. 14

The Fayetteville-Manlius School District Board of Education plans to meet 6 p.m. Monday, Dec. 14.

Amid concerns of the COVID-19 public health crisis, Gov. Andrew Cuomo issued an executive order exempting municipal and school boards from provisions of the state Open Meetings Law that require public access to locations where government meetings are conducted.

To comply with this order, the Dec. 14 meeting will be available for public viewing via YouTube Live only. The meeting will stream in real-time on F-M’s official YouTube channel and be archived on the channel for later viewing.

To ensure community voices are heard during meetings, the board recently revised its virtual public comment procedure so that individuals can remotely attend that portion of the meeting instead of submitting remarks through the live stream chat feature.

To receive access to the meeting, participants must complete and submit an online request form by 5:45 p.m. on the day of the meeting. Participants will receive a link to join the Zoom meeting and upon joining will be placed in a virtual waiting room until the public comment session begins.
