F-M Athletic Hall of Fame nominations due May 1

Do you know a former student-athlete, coach, team or athletics program supporter whose accomplishments raised the bar on high school athletics at Fayetteville-Manlius School District?

If so, now’s the time to submit a nomination to the Fayetteville-Manlius Athletic Hall of Fame.

Established in 2016, the F-M Athletic Hall of Fame recognizes and honors the many great individuals who have made the F-M athletics department such a special part of the F-M educational experience.

“Since its inception in 1954, the Fayetteville-Manlius School District has had a rich tradition in interscholastic athletics,” said Scott Sugar, F-M’s director of physical education and athletics. “The F-M Hornets Athletic Department has fostered many athletes, coaches and teams who have achieved sectional, regional, state and national honors. Additionally, alumni from F-M have gone on to compete at the highest level of sports, most notably the Super Bowl and the Olympics.”

The F-M Athletic Hall of Fame will induct its next class at a ceremony during Homecoming weekend in fall 2019. Former athletes, coaches, and teams are eligible annually for the honor, as are others who have made significant contributions to student-athletes or the interscholastic athletic department of Fayetteville-Manlius School District.

To recommend an individual or group for a future Hall of Fame class, contact the F-M athletics department at 315-692-1919 or by email to obtain a nominating application. Completed forms are due to the athletic office by May 1, 2019.

A confidential selection committee comprised of current and former coaches will review nominations and choose the honorees. In addition, Mr. Sugar will serve as the selection committee chairman. He is a non-voting member.
Individuals not selected for the first class will remain in consideration for upcoming classes.
