Five individuals within school community test positive for COVID-19; schools remain open

On Jan. 13 and 14, the Fayetteville-Manlius School District was notified of five individuals within the school community who have tested positive for COVID-19.

The individuals include the following:

  • Two Eagle Hill Middle School staff members who were last in school on Jan. 12. Contact tracing determined a total of 70 students and two staff members who need to quarantine as a result of possible exposures from the two COVID-19 positive staff members.
  • An Enders Road Elementary School cohort A student who was last in school on Jan. 5. Contact tracing determined that no students or staff members need to quarantine. 
  • A Wellwood Middle School cohort B student who was last in school on Dec. 11. Contact tracing determined that no students or staff members need to quarantine.
  • A Wellwood Middle School staff member who was last in school on Jan. 12. Contact tracing determined eight students and four staff members who need to quarantine as a result of possible exposures from the positive staff member.

At this time, all F-M schools remain open for in-person instruction.

Due to privacy laws, the district cannot provide any additional information about the individuals who tested positive. If you would like to be tested out of an abundance of caution, please visit the New York State COVID-19 web page to find a testing location near you or talk with your healthcare provider.

The district continues to thoroughly clean and disinfect all buildings on campus and its buses in accordance with guidance from the state Department of Health and the U.S Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
