On Thursday, Sept. 24, Fayetteville-Manlius School District officials learned that a teacher shared between Fayetteville Elementary and Wellwood Middle schools tested positive for COVID-19.
Out of an abundance of caution and to allow Onondaga County Department of Health officials to conduct contact tracing, there will be no in-person instruction at Fayetteville Elementary or Wellwood Middle schools on Friday, Sept. 25. All Fayetteville Elementary and Wellwood students will have a remote learning day.
Teachers may work from their classroom or at home, and all other staff should report as normal.
Unless directed otherwise by the Onondaga County Department of Health, district officials anticipate that Fayetteville Elementary and Wellwood will return to their regular hybrid learning models with students in attendance on Tuesday, Sept. 29.
The district’s other schools will follow their regular schedules for Friday, Sept. 25.
