May 14 COVID-19 update: Help ‘Light the Night’ to honor the Class of 2020

To honor the Class of 2020, the Fayetteville-Manlius School District will be turning on its athletic stadium lights at 8:20 p.m. Friday, May 15.

With traditional senior recognition events canceled across the country to curb the spread of COVID-19, many school districts have been holding “Light the Night” events to recognize their senior classes.

The F-M athletic stadium lights will shine beginning at 8:20 p.m. (20:20 military time), for 20 minutes, on May 15 to recognize F-M’s Class of 2020.

Community members are encouraged to participate by decorating their homes in green and white and turning on their homes’ outside lights at 8:20 p.m.

Students, their families and community members are welcome to drive by the stadium, which is located next to the F-M District Office building at 8199 E. Seneca Turnpike in Manlius.

Gatherings on the field will not be permitted as school facilities are closed. However, staff members from across the district will be on site—practicing social distancing measures—to wave and cheer on any seniors and their families who drive through the F-M High School parking lot that is closest to the turf field. Students and their families are asked to stay in their vehicles and follow the designated driving route below to avoid congestion.
