Mott Road 2021-22 school supply lists available

Below are school supply lists for each grade level at Mott Road Elementary School for the upcoming 2021-22 school year.

Kindergarten

*Students can bring their supplies to kindergarten visitation on August 31.

  • A backpack (no wheels)
  • One pair of headphones – no earbuds (L-shaped jack works best)
  • 8 Elmer’s glue sticks (.77 ounce)
  • One package (4 count) of low odor dry erase markers – fine tip
  • 3 boxes of Crayola crayons (24 count)
  • 2 heavy duty (not plastic) two-pocket folders – any color/design
  • 2 transparent plastic envelopes – approx. 10 x 13 size (a two-pocket folder will need to fit inside – no zip top)
  • 4×6 recent photo of child (include their name on the back)
  • 1 art smock (adult size – no ties or velcro)
  • 1 change of clothes to keep at school
  • 1 package of washable Crayola markers – broad line tip
  • 1 package of colored pencils (24 count)
  • 1 pair of kids blunt-tip scissors
  • 4-pack of Playdough

Grade 1

  • Backpack to bring back and forth to school (no wheels)
  • Oversized, short-sleeve t-shirt to use as an art smock (no buttons or ties)
  • Basic child-size earbuds for iPad. Please open package and practice using them at home. Please send headphones in a plastic baggie labeled with child’s name. 
  • Solid color 1-inch, three-ring binder. We will need to insert a cover page, so be sure that the front has a clear, plastic sleeve.
  • 2 transparent, plastic envelopes (any color) approximately 9 – 3/4 x 13 inches (available at Wegmans, Target and Rite Aid). Velcro closure is preferred, no zippers.
  • 6 large Elmer’s glue sticks (.77-ounce )
  • 4 thin dry erase markers – EXPO brand
  • 12 #2 Ticonderoga pencils sharpened (no fancy pencils)
  • 2 (12-packs) Crayola colored pencils
  • 2 packs of Crayola crayons (24 count)
  • 2 boxes of Crayola markers, 8 or 10 count – washable if possible
  • One pair of child’s pointed-tip scissors
  • Stylus for iPad (optional)
  • Two hard plastic pencil box approximately 8 x 5 inches. No small/zippered/fancy cases. Please label these with your child’s name.

*Do not label or buy extra items. The items will be placed in a community bin. There may be other items required by individual teachers. The August placement letter will list any additional supplies that are needed.

Grade 2

  • 1 plastic pencil box. It should be big enough to hold pencils, scissors, and glue, but small enough to fit inside of a desk.
  • 1 pair of blunt-tip kids scissors
  • 2 boxes of crayons (two 24 packs)
  • 1 box of colored pencils (12 count)
  • 1 package of coloring markers
  • 4-6 all-purpose school glue sticks (washable) – purple or white
  • 1 standard (4 oz.) bottle of Elmer’s Glue
  • 12 sharpened yellow No. 2 pencils
  • 1 yellow highlighter
  • Earbuds for iPad. Please send in a labeled plastic baggie (they can be purchased at the Dollar Store)
  • Oversized, short-sleeve t-shirt to use as an art smock (no buttons or ties)
  • 4 dry erase markers (low odor/no odor are best)
  • 1 old, clean sock for a whiteboard eraser
  • 2 highlighters
  • 1 handheld, enclosed (to catch shavings) pencil sharpener
  • 2 Pink Pearl erasers
  • Durable, two-pocket folder for taking work to and from school (any color/design)
  • 4 two-pocket folders (no prongs) – one blue, one yellow, one green, one red
  • Backpack (no wheels, please)
  • Spill-proof, non-glass water bottle (suggested for students to keep water at their desks)

Donations gratefully accepted of: 

  • Ziploc bags: snack size, sandwich size or gallon size

Grade 3

  • 6 sturdy, plastic folders (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, purple)
  • 24 sharpened pencils
  • Pack of dry erase markers (replenished by parents and guardians, as needed)
  • Eraser for white board (a cloth or old sock works, too)
  • 1 box of 24-count crayons
  • 1 box of 10-pack markers
  • 1 box of 12-count colored pencils
  • 1 pair of child-friendly scissors
  • Zippered pencil pouch large enough to hold all art supplies
  • Last Name A-L: Box of gallon-size Ziploc bags
  • Last Name M-Z: Box of sandwich-size Ziploc bags
  • Child-friendly water bottle (a water bottle your child can open and close on their own)
  • Glue stick

    Grade 4

    • Art smock
    • 1 composition notebook
    • #2 pencils (24 count) with erasers and sharpened
    • 1 handheld pencil sharpener
    • 1 large glue stick
    • 2 highlighters
    • 5-10 thin, black flair pens (preferably Papermate brand)
    • 1 pack of fine tip whiteboard markers
    • Old sock to be used for a whiteboard eraser
    • Scissors
    • 1 box of 24-count crayons – preferably Crayola brand
    • 1 box of colored pencils – preferably Crayola brand
    • 1 box of Crayola washable markers
    • 2 packages of 3 x 3″ Post-It Notes (any color)
    • 5 sturdy, plastic two-pocket folders: 1 red; 1 blue; 1 green; 1 yellow; 1 purple (please label with child’s name only in the lower corner)
    • Headphones/earbuds in a labeled Ziploc bag (Please label with only a name in the lower corner.)
    • Optional: Pencil pouch – no pencil boxes as space is limited
    • Daily: Healthy snack and filled water bottle
