Musical clinicians work with Wellwood students ahead of spring musical

Students at Wellwood Middle School prepared for upcoming performances of “Dear Edwina Jr.” by working with a team of musical clinicians.

Last month, clinicians Cindy and Al Ripley mentored music and theatre and band students during a day of workshops and rehearsals.

The music and theatre students had the opportunity to refine their character development, stage presence and acting skills with Cindy. She also provided feedback on staging and helped clarify the vision for the production.

Band students’ concert preparations were supported by Al, who assisted students with listening, precision and developing a cohesive sound as a group.

Cindy is the Senior Advisor for Education at iTheatrics in New York City and a nationally recognized education consultant. Her work with iTheatrics and Music Theatre International has taken her around the world and to the White House. Al is a distinguished elementary band director with 33 years in public education.

Students will show off their new skills during three 90-minute performances that will take place in the Wellwood Middle School auditorium, located at 700 S. Manlius Street, Fayetteville, on the following dates and times:

  • Thursday, March 23, 7 p.m.
  • Friday, March 24, 7 p.m.
  • Saturday, March 25, 11 a.m.
