New school year begins for F-M students

School is officially back in session for Fayetteville-Manlius School District students.

On Sept. 3-4, F-M students and staff members kicked off the 2019-20 school year.

The first day of school typically brings with it some anxiety as students find their way to new classrooms and meet their teachers, but there were lots of smiles, hugs and high-fives as they greeted old and new friends and were welcomed by teachers and staff members.

Students in kindergarten through ninth grade started school Sept. 3. Students in grades 10-12 begin Sept. 4.

At F-M High School on Tuesday, freshmen had the building to themselves with members of the Link Crew, a designated group of junior and senior class mentors who guide freshmen as they transition to high school. Link Crew leaders greeted freshmen, gave them tours of the building and offered tips on how to have a successful year.
