As part of the Fayetteville-Manlius School District’s mental health initiatives, families and caregivers can now register for the mental health webinar “Coping with Holiday Stress – Supporting Child and Family Resilience.”
The hour-long webinar on Dec. 14 at 7:30 p.m., hosted by School Mental Health Resource and Training Center, will discuss how stress and the holidays can impact mental health.
Joining the discussion will be Dr. Vera Feuer and Brittney Chatel, LMHC from Northwell Health, covering the topics of how to support your own mental health, how to support the mental health of our youth and families and how to promote resilience during the holiday season.
Registration for the webinar must be completed by 12 p.m. Dec. 14.
Mental health educator William DeSantis, who serves F-M as part of the district’s contract with Contact Community Services, has also created an informational video addressing the causes and symptoms of the holiday blues and seasonal affective disorder (SAD), coping skills and available resources.
More information about the district’s mental health resources is available on the Counseling Services page on the district’s website.
