On June 11, after getting clarification from Assemblyman Al Stirpe’s office on health and safety protocols related to F-M’s planned outdoor senior ball, F-M High School Executive Principal Raymond Kilmer sent the following letter to high school seniors and their families.
Dear F-MHS Seniors and Families,
At 3:30 p.m. today, following repeated inquiries for further clarification, I received updated guidance and clarification regarding health and safety protocols from NYS regarding our outdoor Senior Ball. This guidance states that events below the state’s social gathering limit of 500 attendees outdoors:
- Fully vaccinated individuals do not need to wear masks.
- Unvaccinated individuals and individuals who have an unknown vaccination status must continue to wear masks and maintain six feet of social distancing. Masks are optional outdoors for unvaccinated/unknown vaccination status individuals while they are seated and socially distanced.
- Full vaccination status can be provided through paper form, digital application, or the State’s Excelsior Pass OR, since these events are below the social gathering limit, vaccination status can be self-reported.
To facilitate our Senior Ball tomorrow, students who wish to not wear a mask must provide proof of vaccination status OR self-report as they arrive. Of course anyone is welcome to wear a mask throughout the event. Masks will need to be worn if entering the high school to use restrooms, regardless of vaccination status.
We are so excited to host the Class of 2021 tomorrow evening. We are happy to provide a healthy and safe environment for the Seniors to come together one more time as we finish the year.
Please contact me if you have any questions.
