Children’s entertainer be-bops his best at F-M elementary school

Grammy-nominated recording artist Red Grammer recently performed his concert program “Circle of Light: Songs for Bucket Fillers” during two special presentations at Mott Road Elementary School.

Using easy-to-recite melodies, role playing and stories, Mr. Grammer personalizes his shows to support school district character education programs and encourage a culture of love, happiness and thoughtfulness. Members of the Fayetteville-Manlius school’s Character Education Committee arranged for the singer’s Feb. 2 visit.

Some of Mr. Grammer’s best-known music for children focuses on human values such as truthfulness, gratitude, integrity, kindness and fairness. The All Music Guide named his album “Teaching Peace” (1986) one of the top five children’s recordings of all time. It was also a Parents’ Choice Classic Award recipient.

Many Mott Road students and staff members wore red outfits to school on the day of the singer’s visit and participated in his performances.
