Data Center Help Desk Operator

Fayetteville-Manlius Central School District is looking to hire a Data Center Help Desk Operator.

This civil service position is responsible for identifying problems occurring within the data processing network of the district, answers questions regarding systems procedures, online transactions, system status and downtime; determines whether problems are caused by hardware, software, communication devices or operator error; records problems in a manual or automated tracking log; refers problems that cannot be resolved to appropriate IT professional; and makes follow up calls to check status of resolutions.

Minimum Qualifications: Good knowledge of the operation of computer hardware, software, peripherals and communication devices as well as security programs and procedures. Possess the ability to explain the use and capability of computer hardware, software, peripherals and communication devices.
