Eagle Hill earns second place in Onondaga County Jr. High Math League

Students from Eagle Hill Middle School earned an impressive second-place finish in this year’s Onondaga County Jr. High Math League competition.

Hosted by the Onondaga County Math Teachers, the annual league brings together middle school students from across the county to compete in five meets held throughout the school year. During each meet, students work individually to solve challenging math problems that test their skills in logic, problem-solving and critical thinking. Points are awarded for correct answers, and team and individual scores are tracked throughout the season.

The Eagle Hill team finished the season with a total of 112 points, securing second place overall. Several students also earned individual honors. Damjin Choi had an outstanding season, scoring 25 points for the team and earning the second-place medal among eighth grade students. Daniel Yang also had a strong performance, earning the third-place medal among eighth grade students.

The Eagle Hill Math League team included Laila Addoum, Anika Das, Roan Doherty, Louki Everding, Tingyun (Mario) Gao, Justine Kuchera, Bright Lee, William Liu, Jiahe (Jack) Luan, Ella McKee, Hannah Park, Max Quesnel and Lisa Urao. The team is coached by teachers Mrs. Winje, Mr. DeBlois, Mr. Pirong and Ms. Albicker.
