F-M High School debuts new cafeteria, classrooms, and courtyard

F-M High School students have access to several new spaces this school year. This summer, construction crews made significant progress on the $52 million capital project at the high school. Work that was completed includes:

  • Cafeteria renovations and 2-story expansion featuring:
    • 2 new serving lines
    • Modern seating options to accommodate all students
    • A video display wall
  • Courtyard renovations (additional seating will be installed this fall)
  • New broadcast journalism classroom
  • 5 new classrooms
  • Classroom renovations – 26 rooms total
  • New learning support center for students
  • Expansion of the new main office
  • Stairwell and entrance updates on the north end of House 1

Construction will continue throughout the 2025-26 school year with additional classroom/science wing renovations taking place and upgrades in House 2, such as new ceilings and heating, ventilation and air conditioning improvements. The district expects most of the remaining work, including sidewalk and parking lot replacements, to be completed by fall 2026.

Capital project completion brings infrastructure & safety upgrades to all F-M schools

Capital project work to address critical aging infrastructure needs and safety and security upgrades at each of F-M’s school buildings will be substantially completed by September.

The $15.4 million project, approved by voters in 2024, included:

  • Partial roof replacements at F-M High School, Wellwood Middle School, Eagle Hill Middle School, and the District Office
  • Safety and security upgrades across all school district buildings
  • Heating, ventilation and air conditioning (HVAC) control upgrades at Fayetteville Elementary School, F-M High School, Support Services Maintenance Building, Transportation Center and Conference Center

Work began in spring 2025 and continued throughout the summer. The final stages of work will be finished this fall.
