The Fayetteville-Manlius Central School District is implementing a new visitor management system, Visitor Aware, to enhance the safety and security of our schools.
Visitor Aware will be used across all F-M school buildings to ensure a more consistent and secure check-in process for all visitors, volunteers, and guests. This system will help us monitor who is in our buildings at any given time, while still maintaining a welcoming environment for families and community members.
What to expect when visiting:
- Upon arrival, all visitors will be required to present a valid government-issued photo ID (such as a driver’s license).
- The system will perform a quick background check and then issue a printed visitor badge.
- Repeat visitors will enjoy a quicker check-in process after their initial visit.
Information like a visitor’s name, date of birth, state, and sex are used to ensure that they are not on any sexual offender registry across all 50 states, as well as ensuring that they are not on a national or international watchlist such as FBI watch lists, OFAC blocked persons, DTC debarred parties, etc.
Collected information, which is secured and encrypted, will only be used for the purpose of helping F-M schools identify visitors. We do not save any more information than is necessary for this purpose and do not use data for any other purpose.
The district kindly asks for your cooperation and patience as we roll out this new system. Our top priority is the safety of our students and staff, and we believe this tool will be a valuable addition to current district safety procedures.
If you have any questions or concerns, please contact your school’s main office.
