F-M’s policies regarding Immigration and Customs Enforcement

Dear Fayetteville-Manlius school community,

As we continue to hear more about Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) activity across the state and nation, the district felt it was important to share related information about district policies and procedures.

At F-M, we strive to ensure all students and staff feel safe and supported as integral parts of our school family. Like many neighboring districts, we continue to follow the latest guidance from Governor Kathy Hochul, the Attorney General, and the Commissioner of Education ensuring our practices follow state and federal requirements.

Consistent with board policy and applicable laws, law enforcement activities—including those conducted by ICE—are not permitted in our schools, on transportation routes, on school property, or at school-sponsored events without a valid judicial warrant.

If we learn ICE is present on district property, we will notify parents and guardians immediately. You can help by ensuring your child’s school has current emergency contact information on file. If possible, please provide us with more than one contact.

If you have specific questions regarding your child(ren) and or your family’s current emergency contact information that is on record, please reach out to your building principal.

Thank you,

Craig J. Tice, Superintendent of Schools
