Fayetteville-Manlius French students continued a tradition of excellence in the National French Contest this year. This competitive exam, also known as Le Grand Concours, is sponsored annually by the American Association of Teachers of French. It tests students’ listening, reading and grammar skills in the language. This year, more than 47,000 students across the country participated.
The test is taken online by French students in grades 7-12. Three F-M students were recognized with a special prize from the Central New York chapter of the American Association of Teachers of French for earning the highest score in Central New York in their level and division: Wellwood 8th grader Marshall Jones on the Level 1 exam, FMHS junior Anjali Eastman-Persaud on the Level 4 exam, and FMHS junior Michelle Ifeonu on the Level 5 exam.
