Two FMHS seniors place in county photo contest

Two Fayetteville-Manlius High School students have been awarded for their artistic talent! Both FMHS senior Antonia Allmett and junior Thanish Ayyathurai Jaya placed in the Sixth Annual Onondaga County Parks Winter Photo Contest.

Both students won in the “Most Artistic” category. Thanish placed first with the photograph “Green Moss,” while Antonia placed second with an untitled photograph depicting trees. Prizes were awarded in five categories: Best Action, Best Portrait, Best Winter Scene, Most Artistic, and People’s Choice Award, which was selected by online public vote.

The sixth annual contest was open throughout the month of February. All photos had to be taken between February 1-29, 2024. Photographers could submit any photos taken within any Onondaga County or Syracuse City park.

The winners were selected via an online public voting forum, and organizers said more than 800 votes were cast. Winners received prizes such as a four-pack of tickets to the Syracuse Mets, gift cards to local restaurants, and an Onondaga County Parks Family Fun Package.
