All F-M elementary and middle school students eligible for free breakfast/lunch

During the 2025-26 school year, all Fayetteville-Manlius School District students in grades K-8 will be eligible for one free breakfast and one free lunch daily.

F-M’s elementary and middle schools are participating in the federal meal programs School Breakfast Program (SBP) and National School Lunch Program (NSLP). New York State is helping to fund these programs, which allows schools to provide a non-pricing meal service.

Additional meals and a la carte items such as chips, drinks or ice cream, will still be available for purchase in the school cafeterias.

While K-8 families are not required to fill out a free/reduced-price meal application in order to receive free meals, the district strongly encourages families to complete and submit the application to help ensure correct state aid funding for the district.

F-M High School students may qualify for free or reduced-price meals

In order to continue offering a wide variety of meal options, F-M High School is not participating in SBP or NSLP. Participation in these programs requires schools to adhere to nutritional guidelines and would restrict F-M High School’s ability to offer options that are in high demand by students, such as paninis and smoothies.

For students in grades 9-12 who do not qualify for free or reduced-price meals, meal costs for the 2025-26 school year will remain the same as the prior year. Breakfast will cost $3.00 and lunch will cost $4.25.

Students in grades 9-12 from households that meet federal income guidelines must submit an application to be eligible for free or reduced-price meals. As of July 2019, students in New York state that are approved for reduced-price meals receive both breakfast and lunch at no charge.

To apply for free or reduced-price meals, complete an application, sign it, and return it to the Fayetteville-Manlius School District as soon as possible. The district cannot approve an incomplete application.

Free and reduced-price meal applications can also be obtained at each F-M school or by calling the F-M Food Service Department at (315) 692-1842 or (315) 692-1843.
