AP Calculus students help build beds for children in need

FMHS students in Mrs. Kushnir’s AP Calculus class spent Wednesday, Feb. 7 building beds for children in need. Students joined volunteers at Sleep in Heavenly Peace, where they spent 3 hours drilling, sanding, and assembling bunk beds that will be delivered to families in the greater Syracuse area.

This is the 4th year AP Calculus students have helped the Syracuse chapter of the international organization. Mrs. Kushnir gives students a short classroom pitch about what Sleep in Heavenly Peace does and how they can help, then sends an email to students and their parents/guardians with details on how to sign up.

This year, students helped build 45 beds for children in need. Way to go, Hornets!
