Board of Education to update 2025-26 District Wide School Safety Plan in January


At their regular meeting on Monday, Nov. 17, the Board of Education reviewed updates made to the 2025-26 District Wide Safety Plan. The changes are related to automated external defibrillator (AED) equipment and school safety training as part of Cardiac Emergency Response Plans. These changes are in accordance with Desha’s Law which was signed by Governor Hochul on July 25, 2025. 

This update opens a mandatory 30-day public comment period before going back to the board for approval in January. The board will hold a public hearing and vote on the plan at its Monday, Jan. 12, 2026 meeting.
