Substitute Custodial Helpers (12-month position)

Location: Six buildings throughout the district

Hours: Up to 40 hours/week – 1st and 2nd shifts

HR will be responsible for forwarding your application and interest onto the department supervisor.           

Duties: Work involves the performance of routine building cleaning tasks. Under immediate supervision of Custodian, an employee in this class routinely performs repetitive tasks; specific instructions are given for new assignments. Cleans and polishes desks and furnishings. Washes and dusts windows, blinds, woodwork, walls and fixtures. Cleans basins, mirrors, toilets, urinals and shower stalls. Refills soap, toilet tissue and paper towel containers. Depending Upon The Area of Assignment: May scrub, mop, sweep, vacuum, dust, wax and polish floors. May move furniture to clean underneath. May collect and dispose of trash and recyclables. Does related work as required.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: One year of experience performing routine manual work involving building cleaning and general labor tasks; have working knowledge of the methods, materials and equipment commonly used in custodial work; and does related work as required.  Must have valid driver’s license and achieve successful completion of the AED requirements within first year of employment.
