Enhanced security measures planned for school budget vote

As part of its review of building safety plans and procedures, the Fayetteville-Manlius School District has made some changes for the Tuesday, May 15, school budget vote and board of education election.

Fayetteville Elementary School will continue to serve as the district’s polling place from 7 a.m. to 9 p.m.; however, during regular school-day hours, all voters will enter the building through the wheelchair-accessible door to the right of the main entrance (when facing the building). The public will be separated from students and staff and only have access to the cafeteria, where voting takes place.

The district’s school information resource officers will be on site, and the district has also arranged for additional police presence from the Town of Manlius Police Department.
