Fayetteville-Manlius High School students are preparing for their annual Dance Marathon fundraiser. It’s a longtime tradition at F-M, students have been hosting the event for more than 30 years. The 2026 Dance Marathon is scheduled for Saturday, March 21, but fundraising efforts began much earlier in the school year.
Each fall, a new group of Masters of Ceremonies (MCs) is chosen from the senior class. The students are charged with raising awareness and money for Camp Good Days and Special Times, a not-for-profit organization that provides a summer camp experience to children whose lives have been affected by a cancer diagnosis and sickle cell anemia. It costs about $800 to send a child to the camp, F-M students aim to raise $100,000 each year.
To reach their goal, students organize a months-long fundraising campaign, which culminates in the Dance Marathon. Throughout the school year, students raise money by going door-to-door, hosting in-school events, and encouraging students at other school buildings to host fundraisers of their own.
