F-M students selected to perform at state music conference

Students who qualified for All-StateEleven Fayetteville-Manlius High School students were selected to participate in the 2023 New York State School Music Association (NYSSMA) All-State Conference.

The F-M students performed in ensembles with students from across the state at the annual NYSSMA conference in Rochester Nov. 30 – Dec. 3. 

Statewide, thousands of sophomores and juniors auditioned for All-State last spring at NYSSMA solo and ensemble festivals. Students were selected primarily on numerical scores and rankings. Other factors for selection to All-State include instructor recommendations, grade in school, previous All-State performances and participation in additional musical organizations.

The following students qualified for All-State:

  • McKayla Burke, Symphonic Band – Harp
  • Max Clark, Symphony Orchestra – Bass
  • Gilbert Davies, Mixed Choir – Bass 2
  • Justin Dunn, Mixed Choir – Tenor 2
  • Alexis Forbes, Symphony Orchestra – Violin
  • Hayden Frisbie, Mixed Choir – Soprano 1
  • Sankalp Gautam, Symphonic Band – Oboe
  • Nathan Liu, Symphonic Band – Flute
  • Jackson Marr, Mixed Choir – Bass 1
  • Mia Sakonju, Symphony Orchestra – Violin
  • Elizabeth Sharples, Mixed Choir – Alto 1

The following students were designated alternates in the event a student was unable to attend:
