F-M voters approve $111 million budget and capital project

On May 21, Fayetteville-Manlius School District voters:

  • Approved the district’s $111 million 2024-25 budget proposal
  • Approved a $15.4 million capital improvement project
  • Approved the purchase of six new buses
  • Approved of an ex-officio student board member
  • Elected three board of education members
  • Approved 2 public library budget proposals

The budget proposition passed with 61.9% voter approval; 1,662 yes votes and 1,021 no votes.

School Budget

A $111,254,879 budget for the 2024-25 school year that increases spending by 5.99% ($6,288,033) and carries a 3.49% tax levy increase: 1,662 yes; 1,021 no.

Capital Project

A $15.4 million capital project that includes work at each of the district’s six school buildings: 1,750 yes, 928 no.

School Bus Purchases

Purchase six new school buses at a total cost not to exceed $1,201,885: 1,446 yes; 1,234 no.

Ex Officio Student Board Member

Continue the practice of including a student board member in a non-voting capacity: 2,229 yes; 446 no.

Board of Education Election

Eight candidates sought election to three open board of education seats. They are:

Daniel Toolan: 703 votes
Anne Marie Voutsinas: 865 votes
Sarah R. Pinsky: 1,041 votes
Ann K. Bersani: 1,243 votes
Marissa Joy Mims: 1,200 votes
Daniel Seidberg: 1,052 votes
Gavin Goodwin: 330 votes
Christopher P. McKee: 554 votes

Library propositions

Fayetteville Free Library, $2,043,278:  1,695 yes; 983 no.

Manlius Library, $1,470,568: 1,810 yes; 868 no.
