If you’ve recently driven by or visited Fayetteville-Manlius School District buildings you’ve likely noticed some new electronic signs. The four new signs can be seen outside Fayetteville-Manlius High School, the Eagle Hill/Enders campus, the Fayetteville Elementary/Wellwood Middle School campus, and Mott Road Elementary.
The signs were installed over summer break and were paid for with a $350,000 State and Municipal Facilities grant (SAM grant) through Assemblyman Al Stirpe’s office. They are connected to school paging systems and aim to enhance real-time communication with updates regarding safety, games, events, voting, board meetings, and more.
“We’re thankful to Assembly Stirpe’s office for helping the district obtain the grant money needed to make this project a reality,” shared Superintendent Dr. Craig Tice. “Not only do they address the communication priorities of our recent school safety and security audits, but we believe that they will significantly improve the flow of information with all members of our school community.”
The district will have a procedure in place to handle display requests. More information on that will be made available once finalized.
