Student artwork on display, for sale during National Youth Art Month

March is annually recognized as National Youth Art Month, and there are several opportunities for the Fayetteville-Manlius School District community to celebrate the talents of the district’s students and staff.

K-12 Visual Arts Showcase

The 2022 Fayetteville-Manlius K-12 Visual Arts Showcase will be on display throughout March for the community to enjoy. The Fayetteville Free Library is hosting the free exhibit, which features 75 pieces of art by F-M students representing all grade levels.

The exhibit will run March 8-31 during regular library hours. The library is located at 300 Orchard St., Fayetteville.

There will be a Family & Teacher Reception 5-6:30 p.m. March 9 that the public is also welcome to attend.

F-M Artist-Teacher Exhibit

At the Manlius Library, artwork by art department teachers from each of the district’s schools will be on display March 7-31. The free exhibit will be open during regular library hours. The Manlius Library is located at 1 Arkie Albanese Ave., Manlius.

F-M High School Art Market

F-M High School’s National Art Honor Society (NAHS) is hosting an after-school art market in the high school’s House 1 foyer March 28 to April 29. The sale features student-produced pieces, including note cards, mugs, tote bags, as well as stickers, jewelry and crafts students have been making specifically for the fundraiser.

The market will be open from 2:15-3 p.m., and community members are welcome to attend.

Money raised will help their members attend art-related trips and perform community art outreach across the district, such as holding art classes for peers and children, supporting district events and hosting art exhibits

There are 60 students in NAHS who collectively donate over 500 hours of art-related community service to the F-M district annually.
