Students achieve state Seal of Biliteracy

Four Fayetteville-Manlius High School seniors have earned the New York State Seal of Biliteracy (NYSSB), which prepares students with 21st-century language skills and signifies to future employers that the graduates have biliteracy skills.

The NYSSB recognizes high school graduates who have attained a high level of proficiency in listening, speaking, reading and writing in one or more languages in addition to English, according to the NYSSB website. Students demonstrate the required level of proficiency for the Seal by completing and presenting a culminating project, scholarly essay or portfolio.

Elena Coman and Sommer Lugert completed the Seal in French, and Elia and Giulio Poncia completed the Seal in German.
