Safety Protocols for Dropping Off Students
- Drop-Off Location: Please use the designated drop-off area only. Do not drop off students in parking lots or along the side of the road.
- Arrival Time: Please aim to drop off students between 8:30-8:45 a.m., as this is when supervision is available. For safety, students should not arrive earlier than this time.
- Stay in Your Vehicle: For the safety of all students, please remain in your vehicle when using the drop-off lane. If you need to assist your child in exiting the car, please park in a designated parking spot and walk your child over via the crosswalk.
- Drive Slowly and Carefully: Always drive slowly in school zones and parking lots. Be aware of children and staff members crossing or walking near vehicles.
- No U-turns or Double Parking: To prevent accidents, please avoid making u-turns or double parking in the drop-off areas.
Please remember to park in designated, legal spots only when arriving and departing from the school. This includes not parking in fire lanes, handicapped spaces (unless you have the appropriate permit), or any area marked as “No Parking.”
For everyone’s safety, please take extra care to:
- Always use crosswalks: Please remind your children to walk on sidewalks and use designated crosswalks when moving to and from vehicles.
- Slow down: Drive slowly and cautiously in the parking lot, especially during arrival and dismissal times when children are walking to and from cars.
- Refrain from cell phone use: Avoid distractions by not using your phone while driving in the parking lot.
Safety Protocols for Visitors
- Check-in at the Front Office: All visitors must check in at the main office upon arrival. Please bring a valid ID for security purposes.
- Visitor Badges: After check-in, you will be issued a visitor badge that must be worn at all times while on school property. Under no circumstances should visitors be in the hallways or cafeteria without a visitor badge. In order to limit instructional interruptions, we ask that parents/guardians who are in the building to volunteer or visit a specific program do not spontaneously stop by their child’s classroom for an unplanned visit. Visitors also need to return their visitor’s badge to the main office before leaving school property.
- Appointments: If you’re visiting for a scheduled meeting or event, please ensure you have made an appointment in advance. The office staff calls children down to the office for pick-up when the parent or guardian checks into the main office. If you’re picking up a child early, please allow extra time for this process.
- Picking up Siblings: If you’re visiting for a scheduled meeting or event and plan to take a sibling(s) home after the visit, you must report to the office to pick up your other child(ren). For safety reasons, you are not permitted to go directly to any other classrooms or areas in the building.
- No Unauthorized Visitors: Visitors should not proceed beyond the front office without approval. Unauthorized visitors will be escorted back to the main entrance.
- Pick-Up: Please use the designated area for pick-up. For safety reasons, do not enter the hallways or classrooms unless you have prior permission.
- Parking: Please only park in legal, designated parking spots in the parking lot.
