Congratulations to F-M High School senior Sadye Gitner and Wellwood Middle School seventh-grader Taylor Krueger for winning the Language Educators of Central New York (LECNY) Poster contest for 2026.
The poster contest is open to students in grades 6-12 whose teachers are current LECNY members. LECNY is a professional organization made up of language teachers, administrators, and post-secondary students within seven New York counties.
This year’s contest theme was “Learning Languages: A Prescription for Healing Misunderstandings.” Submissions needed to feature original art in any medium and a clear representation of the theme.
Gitner and Krueger were presented with certificates and a $50 check at a LECNY celebration in May. The winning posters will be featured on the LECNY website and will be used for promotional materials.
