Fayetteville-Manlius High School to Present “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” Nov. 5-7

A little magic and plenty of mischief are coming to the Fayetteville-Manlius High School stage this fall. The high school and Thespian Troupe #98 will present William Shakespeare’s “A Midsummer Night’s Dream” Nov. 5-7, marking the school’s first Shakespearean production in 11 years.

Performances begin at 7 p.m. each evening. Tickets are available at fallplay.org. Free tickets are available to senior citizens in our community.

Set in a world where fairies meddle in human affairs and love rarely goes according to plan, the comedy follows young lovers and amateur actors whose paths cross in an enchanted forest. Mistaken identities and magical mix-ups set the stage for an evening of humor and theatrical imagination.

The production brings together 22 student cast members and 24 student crew members who have spent the past seven weeks rehearsing and preparing for opening night. Their work will bring Shakespeare’s characters and fantastical setting to life.

Justin Polly directs the production, with Mel Breed serving as co-director. The production team also includes Chad Healy overseeing set construction, Diane Bates providing costumes and Samantha Lee designing lighting.

Join us for this return to Shakespeare on the high school stage and support the students whose efforts make the production possible!
