Less travel, more support: Mental health clinics open at F-M schools

The Fayetteville-Manlius School District is making mental health treatment more accessible to students right at school. In addition to F-M’s current offerings and resources, the district has partnered with Helio Health to provide on-site mental health clinics at Eagle Hill and Wellwood middle schools, and F-M High School.

The clinics offer confidential comprehensive therapeutic services for students in grades 5-12 who require more individualized support. Students who are seeking support outside of school are now able to receive it in school, minimizing travel time and improving convenience for students and families.

The on-site clinicians support students in strengthening their mental health needs such as anxiety, depression, attention and focus, behavioral challenges, trauma, substance use, family dynamics, and interpersonal relationships.

Clinicians are able to assist with providing services, including:

  • Individual, group and family therapy
  • Psychiatric evaluations
  • Ongoing medication management
  • Case management and psychiatric rehabilitation services
  • Health monitoring appointments with a nurse

Services rendered through the clinics will be billed to families’ insurance plans.

Students and parents may reach out directly to the mental health clinic to begin the referral process.
