Library media specialist recognized as ‘Super Librarian’

Fayetteville-Manlius High School Library Media Specialist Mary Patroulis has been named a “Super Librarian.”

The Central New York School Librarians, an affiliate of New York Library Association – Section for School Libraries (NYLA-SSL), will recognize Patroulis June 14 at an awards banquet. The Soaring With Excellence Super Librarian Award honors librarians in the Central New York School Librarians (CNYSL) region who have made significant contributions to envisioning and building the future of school library services, according to the CNYSL website.

Patroulis began working for the district in 2003 as an English teacher at the high school, and in September 2016, she began her library media specialist position. She recently showcased two library media center programs with several of her F-M High School colleagues and two students at the 2019 NYLA-SSL Annual Conference.

English teachers Julie Parker and Liz Lutz and business teacher Patty Stokes, as well as ninth-grade students Serena Khalifeh and Yakob Kelley, presented with Patroulis.
