We believe in fostering strong connections with our community and encourage all community members to participate in all that our district has to offer. Take advantage of our facilities and enriching programs, utilize our sports fields and courts when not in school use, and explore the wonders of the cosmos at our observatory during scheduled public viewing times. We offer free senior admission to our student plays, concerts, and athletic events. We welcome community flyers to help spread the word about local events and initiatives.
Complimentary passes for seniors
In recognition of the support senior citizens have provided over the years to Fayetteville-Manlius schools, the district is continuing to offer district residents age 62 or older free complimentary passes to school plays, musicals, concerts, athletic events, and other programs.
The Fayetteville-Manlius Complimentary Pass may be used for admission to all school-sponsored activities with the exception of adult education courses, recognition banquets, dinner dances, and athletic contests taking place outside the F-M district.
Some school activities – such as the fall play and spring musical – require advance acquisition of tickets. The complimentary pass will guarantee free admission, but you must contact the designated ticket sales representative in advance to acquire a ticket for these events.
To view the most up-to-date calendar of events, please view the Calendar.
The complimentary pass is good for one school year. The passes can be acquired by contacting the F-M District Office at (315) 692-1234.
Observatory
The F-M Observatory is located on Pride Lane near the ICC building behind F-M High School.
Elementary students and high school earth science students use the building, which has several telescopes that allow classes to view several different celestial bodies at a time without waiting for a “reset” between each viewing. The FM Astronomy Society also uses the observatory.
The FM Education Foundation helped fund the construction of the observatory, one of the many things about the F-M district that is unique. Very few school districts in the U.S. have a functioning observatory on site, and people come from other cities to use F-M’s observatory.
Visiting Hours
For up-to-the-minute information about observatory events, please call the observatory hotline at (315) 692-1299.
Visitors planning to attend the stargazing nights should call the observatory hotline to confirm that the observatory will be open. It may have to be closed due to cloud cover.
