F-M holds 68th annual commencement ceremony

Fayetteville-Manlius High School Class of 2021 members finally got to turn their tassels.

On June 25, Fayetteville-Manlius School District held its 68th annual graduation ceremony at St. Joseph’s Health Amphitheater at Lakeview in Syracuse. The event was originally scheduled to take place at F-M’s outdoor athletic stadium, but was recently changed to the outdoor music venue to better accommodate graduates and their guests.

Earlier this month, New York State Department of Health lifted many of the COVID-19 rules governing high school graduations.

Traditionally, the senior with the highest grade point average is asked to speak during the ceremony. This year, that student was Emma Kronenberg.

Other speakers included Superintendent Craig J. Tice, F-M High School Executive Principal Ray Kilmer, Senior Class President Lucille Fowler and F-M High School social studies teacher Ryan Aldrich, who the students selected to speak.
