Fayetteville-Manlius High School is celebrating nine seniors named commended students in the 2027 National Merit Scholarship Program.
Katherine O’Brien, Luna Lee, Kira Coleman, Stella Affeldt, Sophia He, Daniel Li, Henry Will, Jack Chin and Brixton Gauvin are among approximately 34,000 students nationwide receiving the distinction for their academic promise.
The recognition reflects their performance on the 2025 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test, or PSAT/NMSQT. Their scores put them among the top 50,000 students who entered the 2027 program.
The National Merit Scholarship Corporation emphasized that recognizing these students also highlights the role their schools play in supporting academic development. It expressed hope that the honor would encourage recipients to pursue further educational opportunities.
Each of the nine Fayetteville-Manlius honorees will receive a letter of commendation issued by the school and the National Merit Scholarship Corporation.
