Fayetteville-Manlius fourth graders recently competed in a FIRST Lego League regional competition for grades K-5. It was hosted by OCM BOCES at their offices in Liverpool. The goal was to give young students the opportunity to participate in hands-on STEM challenges using Lego technology.
The theme, “unearthed,” challenged students to learn about archeology and how innovation and technology can help discover historical artifacts.
Fourth graders from each Fayetteville-Manlius elementary school began their research in October, meeting once a week before school to create and program a robotic device to scan covered artifacts.
All that hard work and preparation paid off! Each team was recognized with an award.
