Fayetteville-Manlius High School Spanish-language students were recently recognized for their performance on the 2022 National Spanish Examinations.
Students earned a total of seven Gold, 17 Silver and 15 Bronze medals and eight Honorable Mentions.
- Gold medals are awarded to students scoring at or above the 95th percentile.
- Silver medals are awarded to students scoring from the 85-94th percentiles.
- Bronze medals are awarded to students scoring from the 75-84th percentiles.
- Honorable Mentions are awarded to students scoring from the 50-74th percentiles.
The National Spanish Examinations are sponsored by the American Association of Teachers of Spanish and Portuguese. Each level’s exam consists of an online test of student’s listening, reading and grammar skills in Spanish.
A total of 68 students participated in this year’s contest and they were taught by Spanish teachers Melanie Campitello-Chevez, Stephanie Cimino, Chrissie Monaco, Eva Giacona, Pam Mitchell and Athena Tzetzis.
