Community invited to help grant students’ holiday wishes

With the holiday season around the corner, Fayetteville-Manlius School District’s counseling department is again calling upon community members to help brighten the holiday season for local children in need.

F-M’s family-school liaisons are organizing a holiday giving program to help district families provide holiday gifts for their children. The program aims to help local families that are facing challenging times and have school-aged children residing in their household.

This year, F-M’s family-school liaisons will be distributing gift cards (in lieu of traditional gifts) to participating families.

How to support the gift-giving program:

To participate in the gift-giving program, please notify the counseling department by completing the registration form by Dec. 2.

The program is collecting gift cards for Target, Walmart and Amazon, and monetary donations now through Dec. 2. Gift cards can be dropped off at any school location in an envelope labeled “Family School Liaison.”

Monetary donations can be made via Venmo. Search for the account titled FMHS Sunshine (@fmhssunshine) using the online payment app. The account can be located under the “Business” tab and its profile photo is a smiling sunshine graphic. Please include “Holiday Giving” in the payment description. Donation amounts are not displayed publicly.

Program registration is open through Dec. 2

Could your child or children benefit from a little extra holiday cheer this season? The gift-giving program is open to all F-M school-age children (preschool through grade 12 students) whose families are facing challenging times.

All participating students’ names will be kept confidential. No identifying information will be shared with sponsors.

To participate in the program, please complete the assistance registration form by Dec. 2.
