Spelling success: F-M students move on to regional spelling bee

The annual Fayetteville-Manlius Oral Spelling Bee came down to a nearly 15 minute head-to-head battle between Sven Chiroiu-Gozman and Avya Mangla. The final word: horticulture, which Avya spelled to take first place. Sven, Adalyn Thibodeaux, and Madeline Howes Hanlin rounded out the top four contestants. Two F-M students reach highest level of youth orchestra program

Two Fayetteville-Manlius students are celebrating a major musical accomplishment. Mia Sakonju and Shreya Bhattacharya are members of the 2023-24 Hochstein Youth Symphony Orchestra, the highest-level youth orchestra in The Hochstein School’s four-tier youth orchestra program. District adapts amid nationwide milk carton shortage

The Fayetteville-Manlius School District is adapting its cafeteria drink options due to a national shortage of half-pint milk cartons. The district’s milk vendor said the shortage will likely impact milk delivery through January or February. Right now, F-M’s Food Service Department is working on different solutions. A Fayetteville-Manlius family is spreading hope and raising awareness for Duchenne muscular dystrophy. Charlie Prior is a second grader at Enders Road, and he was diagnosed with Duchenne muscular dystrophy at the age of 3.
